A glimpse into the way of life of a "Towkay" - Chinese Tycoon, in the good old days.
The tour starts with a visit to the Chinatown Heritage Centre that showcases the trials and tribulations of the early immigrants, some of whom eventually became successful "Towkays".
Next, head on to a traditional Teahouse, a place where the wealthy and elite used to unwind and catch up on the latest news.
Then, hop onto a Trishaw Ride - the modern-day "chauffeured" limousine for a ride through the historical heart of the Chinese district (the site where immigrants first landed) before we proceed to Boat Quay where the interesting elements / influence of of Feng Shui is reflected. you will see some landmark buildings which have been developed by Singaporean Towkays who have overcome the odds and achieved great wealth and success.
